CHAMPLIN / GEI WIND HOLDINGS, LLC (“Champlin”) is a southern California based wind energy development company focused on acquiring and developing wind energy projects in North America. The Company is owned by Champlin Windpower, LLC and Bregal Energy, formerly Good Energies. Champlin Windpower was formed in 2006 to acquire wind resource and wind development rights and to develop wind energy projects in the United States. Champlin and its affiliates currently have in excess of 500 MW of new wind energy projects under development in the west.
Bregal Energy is the renewable energy subsidiary of the COFRA, a family held holding company based in Europe. Bregal Energy has invested over a billion dollars in renewable energy projects over the last decade and is a leading investor in wind energy in Europe. Bregal Energy opened a New York office to invest in renewable companies and technologies in North America and has a goal to invest up to $1.5 billion of development capital in the renewable energy sector. Bregal Energy formed Champlin/GEI Wind Holdings as its US wind platform company in 2010.
